Mad Science
We are excited to welcome back and partner with Mad Science of the Capital District to offer the following exceptional, unique, and hands-on science programs!

All programs and camps are curriculum-correlated and meet S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) objectives. They make it their mission to spark imaginative learning! Mad Science is the leading science enrichment provider for children. These programs will encourage team-building as we work collaboratively to solve real-world S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M. problems!

All supplies are included.

for the 2020-2021 school year

Program/Registration Information
  • Does your child LOVE science? Sign up for the SUPER SCIENCE 6-PACK for $75 (Resident) $85 (Non-Resident) and SAVE $15! An Incredible Value!
  • Just the right formula for summer education!

Lights, Color, Action! - 1
  • Enter the world of light and color! Exciting experiments on white light, including color wheel blending and prism-splitting spectrums, introduce Newton’s color theory concepts.
  • Children learn the differences between mixing colored light and mixing colored paint.
  • Activities involving spectroscopes, UV light, and chromatography provide lessons on scientific techniques used to study the physics of light.
  • Students build their own Technicolor Blenders to demonstrate Newton’s color wheel invention.

Mad Science Machines - 2
  • Peek into a class to watch elementary-age engineers hard at work with pulleys and levers.
  • They will design, problem-solve, and have a whole lot of fun! Students will even take home a cool Mad Science Machine that they build themselves!

Space Travel with Rocket Launch - NASA Workshop - 3
  • Launch into an investigation of propulsion systems.
  • Use the compressed air inside balloons to create thrust, race a balloon rocket, and design your own car engine.
  • See the principles of propulsion at work!
  • This program is complete with a rocket launch that is far-out!

Science of Magic - 4
  • In this super science class, children will learn about the science behind magicians.
  • They will create their very own orbies, too!
  • This class is a whole lot of magical FUN!

Rocket Science - NASA Workshop - 5
  • Children will follow a detailed construction plan to build their very own model rockets while exploring the science of rocketry.
  • They will use their creative problem-solving skills as they take on the role of NASA engineers and play a fun, educational game illustrating the four forces of flight.

Watts Up - 6
  • Students discover the world of electricity!
  • They will see sparks fly from a Van de Graaff generator and make feathers levitate by creating a static field.
  • They also see the hair-raising effects of the Van de Graaff by the repelling forces of charged atoms!
  • Children assemble a static stick to take home for some electron-jumping fun!

Super Science 6-Pack - 7
  • Does your child LOVE science?
  • Sign up for the SUPER SCIENCE 7-PACK for $75 (Resident) $85 (Non-Resident) and SAVE $15! An Incredible Value!
